Our Story
Welcome to the home of the Pennridge Girls Ice Hockey Club! We are proud to be the only girls varsity high school program in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. PGIHC is focused on empowering student-athletes through competition, skill development, and team culture.
Founded in 2019 by student-athletes alongside dedicated community coaches, PGIHC was built to fill a long-standing gap in local athletics.
Today, operating as a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, our team provides high school and middle school athletes in the Pennridge area with a dedicated girls ice hockey program to represent their community on the ice.
- Home Rink: Hatfield Ice Arena (Colmar, PA)
- League: Inter-County Scholastic Hockey League (ICSHL) – Girls Division
- Regular Season: September through March
- On-Ice Practice: Weekly on Thursdays 4-5pm at Hatfield Ice
- Off-Ice Practice, Conditioning & Gym Sessions: Athlete development doesn’t stop on the ice. Our players build strength, speed, and injury prevention through dedicated off-ice practices and gym sessions with GetReal Training.
- ICSHL League Games & Scrimmages: October through February
- Spring Rams: ~April through June (Spring Rams and summer practice schedules vary; details can be obtained from the head coach or team manager)

What Drives Us
Hockey is for everyone, whether you’ve been skating since you were four or you just picked up a stick for the first time. It’s never too late.
Player Development at Every Level
We welcome players of all experience levels. Our coaching staff focuses on core fundamentals, tactical execution, off-ice conditioning, and high-level skill progression for both beginners and experienced travel players.
High School Girls
To join Pennridge Girls Varsity, players must be in 8th through 12th grade and reside within the Pennridge School District, including students attending local cyber, charter, or private schools. All players must maintain their school’s academic, attendance, and disciplinary standards to remain eligible for game play.
Middle School Girls
We are actively paving the way for the next generation of girls’ hockey players. Through our middle school pathway, Pennridge School District girls can join our team and start practicing with us in 7th grade. While 7th graders are not eligible for regular season league games per ICSHL rules, they are welcome to join us for weekly on-ice practices, participate in volunteer events, and compete with the team during Spring Rams.
Required Equipment
Full USA Hockey required protective gear is mandatory for all practices and games. Players must have an ice hockey helmet, ice hockey skates, a stick, and all essential protective gear, including a chest/shoulder protector, shin guards, elbow pads, hockey pants, gloves, a mouthguard, and a cut-resistant neck protector.
For brand-new players, PGIHC maintains a limited supply of loaner gear, sticks, and skates available to try out before purchasing your own. Please reach out to us if you need help getting fitted or borrowing gear.
Community Engagement
PGIHC regularly participates in volunteer and community service projects together to strengthen our team culture while giving back locally. As an added benefit for our student-athletes, these projects usually fulfill high school volunteer hour requirements, and our coaching staff work directly with the organizations we partner with to provide volunteer documentation and reference letters for college, trade, and workforce applications.
